UTS Graduate School of Health

Year: 2019

Location: Broadway, NSW

DJRD were the Head Design Consultant for this six-storey warm shell fitout for the UTS Graduate School of Health in the 100 Broadway Building at Central Park.

The UTS Graduate School of Health provides postgraduate courses for Pharmacy, Speech Pathology, Physio, Clinical Psychology, Orthoptics, and Indigenous Health. The new facility houses previously separated disciplines under one roof, forming a multidisciplinary teaching clinic that reflects contemporary healthcare, allows for shared resources, and the introduction of additional teaching courses.

The activity-based working fitout includes faculty workspace, collaborative teaching rooms, informal learning spaces, research and clinic teaching spaces, and computer labs. The design concept was developed in consultation with the University’s Indigenous Health team, and draws reference from weaving, and nawi (the tied bark canoe). The emphasis is that Indigenous Health is intrinsically woven into the teaching, planning, interior design, and ethos of the Graduate School of Health.
