Heather McCabe

Heather joined DJRD in 2022, bringing extensive experience across the health and education sectors and a strong focus on environmentally sustainable design. As an Associate and ESD Lead, she plays a key role in embedding sustainability principles across projects, ensuring environmental performance is considered from concept through to delivery.

A Registered Architect, Heather has experience across all project stages, including design development, documentation and construction-phase services. Her background in large-scale project delivery informs a practical approach to integrating ESD requirements within consultant coordination, technical documentation and contractor engagement.

Since joining DJRD, she has contributed to several major projects for NSW Health Infrastructure and School Infrastructure NSW, supporting the delivery of high-performance public sector outcomes.

Heather has also played a key role in developing DJRD’s Sustainability Action Plan (SAP), reviewing the practice’s work and operations through an environmental and social lens and establishing clear actions to strengthen regenerative outcomes across projects and within the studio.
